a. Third-Party Chat Provider
Our chat feature is powered by TalkJS, a third-party messaging service. When you use chat, your Roblox display name, username, and user ID are shared with TalkJS to facilitate messaging. b. Age Verification
To comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), we require age verification before you can access chat. During this process, your date of birth is used to calculate your age and to determine a block expiry date if you are under 13. We do not store your date of birth directly. We only retain a record that you have provided consent and the date of that consent. If you are determined to be under 13, you will be blocked from chat until the date you would turn 13 based on the date of birth you provided, at which point you may re-verify.
c. Message Content & Filtering
Chat messages are subject to automated PII detection and content filtering. Our filters scan messages for personal information such as email addresses, phone numbers, and external links to help protect your privacy. Flagged content may be blocked from being sent.
d. Chat Reports & Moderation
When a chat report is submitted, we store the reporter's user ID, the reported user's ID, the associated trade ID, the message ID, the reason for the report, and the review status. Our moderation team may review chat transcripts when investigating reports. This data is retained for safety, moderation, and legal compliance purposes.
